To all SARRAL Members:
Be advised that SARRAL has been granted leave to appeal by the Johannesburg South High Court.
It has always been, and still is, our view that the ruling of 27 November 2009 could be overturned by another court. Our legal team has already started with this process, and this will be done as speedily as possible.
We also advise our members to contact SARRAL for the requisition forms to be signed.
SARRAL would like to thank all its members across the country and abroad for their continued support.

Please be informed that SARRAL Legal team will be going back to court on the 16th of February 2010, to persuade the court to grant SARRAL Notice for Leave to appeal; and the interim order to cease the payment of royalties granted during December 2009.

SARRAL Annual General Meeting 2009

Notice is hereby given that the SARRAL Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 18 December 2009, at 11:00 on the 6th Floor, Heerengracht Building, 87 De Korte Street in Braamfontein. Among other matters, we will be clarifying the issue of the legal dispute between SARRAL and Mr C. Shapiro, a former Director at SARRAL.
A member entitled to attend and vote at the meeting is entitled to appoint a proxy to attend and speak on a poll, to vote in his stead.
Proxy forms, available SARRAL offices, must be forwarded to reach the registered office of the organization not less than twenty-four (24) hours before the time of holding of the meeting.

Matter of fact

On Saturday November 7 2009, there was a story on national TV that ‘SARRAL has been ordered to close with immediate effect’, the judgement of a legal battle that has been going on for five years. There were comments on Facebook on Friday, stating that SARRAL is to be shut down. It is only fair that we put the facts across, and state our position herein.
The judgement on Friday to ‘liquidate SARRAL with immediate effect’ is far from the fact of the matter. As much as it is true that the Friday judgement against SARRAL is true, it is however misleading to say that SARRAL is closing down.

We have had numerous requests about members being able to log onto our website to check and update their details. We are pleased to announce that this feature is now available, and are excited that members can now update their details from anyplace, and at anytime.
